MH tools are made from specially modified polyurethane foam. They are used for polishing and lapping all types of glass, as well as natural stone or monocrystalline materials, etc. The material of MH tools has the same properties in all directions. Therefore, they can be used on both spherical and flat grinding machines.
MH tools are used wherever cork, poplar wood, felt, etc., have been used until now. However, compared to the original materials, they have the following advantages:
Higher durability
Higher polishing productivity
Higher polishing quality
Higher reproducibility
Higher work safety
Lower physical strain
Recommended Polishes:
For polishing and lapping, traditionally used polishing suspensions can be used, such as tripoli, and oxides of iron, cerium, aluminum, and chromium, etc.
The tool can be profiled on the perimeter to the desired radius or angle. Please specify this in the order notes.
MH tools are manufactured in four hardnesses:
Very soft (MM) - Suitable for glass repairs
Soft (M) - Suitable for repairs and polishing large radii or slightly profiled cuts
Hard (T) - For flat surfaces, round R25, and wedge cuts 100-150°
Very hard (TT) - Suitable for polishing cuts and other shapes, bevels, edges, and the top rims of glasses
Recommended Operating Conditions:
7 m/s - for a spherical grinding machine
150 rpm - for a flat grinding machine (for a diameter of 600 mm)
10 m/s - for dressing
